Allen County Government
The Allen County Clerk records various real estate documents, including deeds, mortgages and tax liens. Other documents include marriage and delinquent tax records. The clerk also has land records in three formats: books, microfilm or digitally imaged.

Allen County Courthouse
The Allen County Courthouse burned in October 1902. Some records did survive the fire. The burned and charred documents have been preserved in sealed, acid free plastic binders so you have access to the original records without damaging them. Records beyond 1902 are numerous and easily accessed. Research materials formerly found at the Allen County Public Library are now located in the Genealogy Room, at the Allen County Courthouse.

The oldest church in the county is Bethlehem church, originally known as United Baptist church. It was formed by James Atwood in 1801.
